Chances are, you have not heard of all of these animals and birds before. Here is a little guide to help you understand what these animals are.

Chupacabra

This large creature, apparently the size of a small bear with spines down its back, has haunted the regions of the southern United States, Mexico, and Puertro Rico for the past couple of decades or so. Allegedly, this animal likes to drink the blood of other creatures, especially goats. While some attribute this animal's origin to Mexican legend and lore, many others claim to have seen it roaming the aforementioned areas.

Cowbird

No, they are not extremely large birds, nor are they a hybrid of a cow and a bird. Rather, they are types of birds that follow cattle around. They are a type of North American blackbird. While they are following the cattle around, they need somewhere to lay their eggs. Therefore, they will lay their eggs in other birds nests, which the other avians are usually not too happy about!

Cero

You might be thinking of a number when you hear this sea creature's name. However, a cero is actually a large mackerel or a King mackerel. On the eastern Atlantic Coast of the United States all the way down to Brazil, the mackerel is important for both gaming and dietary reasons. They are known for their large size and their long, pointed snouts.

Conch

A conch can be a couple of different things. If you have ever read The Lord of the Flies, you might already be familiar with one particular type of conch. They say that when you put a conch to your ear, you can hear the ocean. Fact or fiction? Check it out for yourself and see. You might be surprised at the results.

Medium sized to large sea snails are often dubbed a "conch." Sometimes just their shell is referred to as a conch as well. You are probably more familiar with the latter definition of a conch.
