Wii points are purchased points that allow you to download different Wii and Nintendo DS games using your Wii console’s Internet connection. In order to use Wii points, your Wii console must have a working connection that allows downloading, as games or items you buy with Wii points are downloaded directly to your Wii console via the Internet.
There are a few different ways to get Wii points:
- You can obtain Wii points by purchasing them directly from Nintendo, under the name “Nintendo Points.” The full details about exactly where and how to purchase them can be found on Nintendo.com.
- You can buy Wii points directly from your Wii console. To do this, you'll want to go to your home screen and select the Wii shop. If you've never used it before, you'll need to first agree to the terms of service when you open the Wii shop. Once you've agreed, you can click "Start Shopping." You can then click "Add Wii points" to add them to your shopping cart and you can check out right from the store on the console by entering your credit information and indicating how many points you want to buy.
- You can purchase these points at your local video game retailer or electronics superstore. The points come on a on a card, much like a phone card, on which you’ll get a PIN number. This PIN number is also your ticket to all of the downloadable games that are located on the Nintendo Channel, which is accessible from your Wii menu.
Unlimited Wii Points and Generators
There are a lot of websites out there that claim to have unlimited Wii points generators, or that promise to provide you with free Wii points with the download of a key generator.
These websites are all frauds, however, and most of them are spam-laden websites that will attempt to infect your computer with Trojan viruses and other malicious content.
The only sure-fire way to get Wii points is to purchase them directly from Nintendo through a nearby video game retailer, and enter the code from the purchased card into the WiiStore from the Wii menu.
