How Do I Make MSN My Home Page?

Have you ever wondered, "how do I make MSN my home page? You can set any page that is available on the Internet as your “home page”, which means it will automatically open to that particular website whenever you open your browser window. Doing this makes it much easier to navigate to your favorite pages, making your browsing more efficient.

While the process may vary slightly depending on which operating system you have, here are some basic options for how to make MSN your home page:

  • In order to set your Internet browser’s home page to the MSN website, you need to access your Internet options tab located in the upper right hand of your computer screen in your Internet browser’s menu bar.
  • Click the “Tools” tab, and scroll down until you see “Internet Options”. When you click on the Internet Options tab, a new window will pop up and this is where you change the name of your home page.
  • In the first window of the Internet options page, at the top of the page there is an icon and a space for the home page setting. Enter http://www.msn.com in the home page field, and when you do the “Apply” tab should illuminate.
  • When it does, click the Apply tab and then the “OK” tab to confirm your setting change.
  • The change may take effect either immediately or the next time you open your Internet browser, depending on your computer’s settings.

In various other operating systems or browers, this "Internet Options" menu may be located elsewhere or called by a different name. For example, using Firefox on a Mac will require you to select "preferences" from your "Firefox" menu. Generally, however, either an "options" or "preferences" menu in the browser program is going to get you where you need to go to set MSN as your home page.
