Similarities

What do you notice that practically all of these buildings have in common? The answer is location. Carefully look at the list. The tallest structures in the world are concentrated in the United States and Asia, particularly China. Just from considering what is going on in the world today, you could probably figure out the reason for this situation. Right now China and the United States have both a lot of power and a lot of money. Not only are they able to create these monuments, they have enough money to keep them going.

Relative Height

Clearly, the tallest structures in the world span a very wide range of different constructions. You have television towers and office buildings. Imagine how massive the 2716 foot Burj Khalifa must look, especially if you are standing right next to it. Even the "smaller" tallest structures in the world, such as the 1137 foot Yangtze River Crossing, tower above so much of the rest of the world, all while getting to look down upon it.
