What are the Floor Plans for Buckingham Palace?

Finding the floor plans for Buckingham Palace is not easy, because there are parts of the palace that aren’t open for public viewing. These sections of the palace are referred to as “The Queen’s Apartments”. However, you can find some limited information on the floor plans online, and you can find more information if you are willing to pay a fee.

An official floor plan showing some of the public areas of Buckingham Palace can be found online at The Royal Collection.org.  This floor plan is provided to help illustrate the scale of the state rooms to visitors. The floor plan, however, is not very complete as only public areas are displayed.

You may also obtain additional information about the palace through various membership sites. For example, though many sections of the palace aren’t open for public visitation, you can view some of the palace's rooms by obtaining a membership to a virtual tour websites such as Palace Virtual Tours. Sites such as this one offer you a close-up view of the palace, though some of these types of websites may require a membership fee.

Once you’ve obtained your membership with a virtual tour site, you gain access to a mobile tour of the palace. Different websites provide different offerings regarding exactly what you will see. The website linked to above, for example, promises photos of all state and semi-state apartments, furniture, paintings and detailed floor plans.

When downloading software, you should always be sure you check the requirements for using the software to determine if your computer system is compatible. You should also be sure the member site is reliable and will not install any harmful or damaging software on your computer system.
