What Is the Car in the Movie Transporter?

The movie Transporter, and its sequels Transporter 2 and Transporter 3 have all involved world-class luxury cars, complex stunts, and incredible car-chase scenes.  In fact, many movie critics claim that the primary reason to see these films is not for excellent plots, writing, or inspiring acting, but instead for the cars and the car scenes themselves.

The Audi A8 W12 featured in the film Transporter has unique features, including a 6.0-liter engine, and DOHC. It is also made entirely of aluminum.  The engine was specially designed to take up the same amount of space as a V8 engine, with its 6-cylinder banks having a special staggered design that looks like a W. That’s where the W, in Audi A8 W12 originates.  

The Audi performs incredible stunts in the film, and is a jaw-dropper for all car enthusiasts. Nevertheless, its $118,000 price tag offers jaw-dropping qualities of a different sort.
