Name The Peanut Characters

Avid cartoon fans everywhere may be able to name the Peanuts characters. There were quite a few Peanuts characters over the life of this comic strip. Many of these characters also appeared in movies and were loved by a generation of kids.

Charlie Brown’s “Peanuts Gang,” a cartoon series by Charles Schultz, had a number of different characters throughout the years. 

• The Peanuts characters include Charlie Brown, the principal character who the show and comic strip were based on.
• Another of the Peanuts characters was Charlie Brown’s dog Snoopy, who was believed to be a beagle although this was never specified. 
• There is also Charlie’s best friend Linus Van Pelt, and Lucy Van Pelt, who was Linus’ bossy older sister. 
• Snoopy the dog had a best friend in the form of a little bird named Woodstock.
• Charlie had his own sister, Sally Brown, to keep him company.  She was infatuated with Linus and was always portrayed as being in love with him. 
• Peppermint Patty, another friend of Charlie Brown, was a tomboyish girl. Peppermint Patty's bookish and glasses wearing friend Marcie often tagged along with the gang as well. 
• There was a piano playing virtuoso named Schroeder, who Lucy was infatuated with.
• There was also an African American boy named Franklin. 
• One character, Pig Pen, was so dirty that wherever he went, clouds of dust and dirt sloughed off of him. 

These characters, along with a number of different bit players that appeared and disappeared over the years, were the cast of the Peanuts comic strip and television shows.  There were also several Charlie Brown holiday shows that have been released on DVD so kids everywhere can continue to enjoy the peanut characters holiday celebrations.
