Music buffs and even casual fans want to know which music artist has sold the most records. Possible guesses could be The Beatles, Michael Jackson, or Frank Sinatra; however, none of them are correct. The correct answer is Elvis Presley.

Elvis, known as the King of Rock 'n Roll, certainly earned his title. Between 1954 and 1977, he recorded 77 albums. Seventy-seven albums in 23 years comes out to approximately three or four albums per year. That is pretty fascinating, since many music artists go at least a couple of years between their albums.
We will never be sure, but we can be certain that he would have gone on to continue with his success. Of his 77 albums, 68 of them reached the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. He was not only creating albums at a rapid pace, he was creating quality albums. Even after he passed away, his albums were continually sold and reissued, bringing his record sales up even higher. Over one billion records of his records have been sold.
While Elvis sold the most, some other music artists have also sold quite a large number. We are not sure that we can say that they "came close," since the one billion mark has not been exceeded by any, and no one is currently threatening to break the record. However, what we can say is that there are some other artists who have made staggering amounts of sales.
Here's a list of the top 10 selling music artists of all times, along with the amount of records sold.
