Who Sings "I Believe in Miracles?"

The soul band Hot Chocolate’s lead singer, Errol Brown, wrote and sang the song “You Sexy Thing.” This song was later referred to as “You Sexy Thing (I Believe in Miracles).”

Errol Brown, the person who sings "I Believe in Miracles," first released the song in 1975. It then reached number three on the United States’ Billboard charts in the summer of 1976.

  • The song exploded in popularity, and has remained a staple on different movie soundtracks and compilation discs ever since.
  • The popularity of the song actually almost never materialized, however, as the original take was going to be a “B-side.”
  • If the song had been used as a B-Side, it would have been used to simply fill space in an album and it would not have received much in the way of radio or popular media credit.
  • After a mixing job by producer Mickie Most, the song was released in the United States and was only beat to the top of the charts by Queen’s instant classic, “Bohemian Rhapsody.” 

The song “You Sexy Thing” has also received numerous instances of recognition in the way of covers and renditions. The song has been covered by a variety of artists ranging from other soul groups to punk rock bands. Even though the success of the song was immediate, the lasting power of the hit has remained through the years, keeping itself new to younger generations.
