The name of Santa Claus in Mexico depends upon whether you are in the northern or southern region of the country.
The title of Santa Claus is different in each section of the country. Here's a little information about the name used for Santa Claus as well as a little bit about how they celebrate the holiday.
In northern Mexico, Santa Claus is called Santo Clos. The name is very similar to what those living in the United States call him, perhaps since the countries are so close to each other. Santo Clos is the one who brings the big presents to the children.
However, they also have the Reyes Magos, who are the three wise men, who bring children smaller gifts during a celebration in January. You might have heard people refer to this holiday as Little Christmas.
Head to the south of Mexico, and you will find that the Santa Claus tradition is quite different. It is actually Los Reyes Magos, as we said before, the three wise men, who bring the large gifts. The small presents are brought by El Nino Dios, which means Jesus.
