What is the Least Popular Crayola Crayon Color?

What is the least popular crayola crayon color? With 133 colors in the Crayola lineup, including unique offerings like "cadet blue" and "fuzzy wuzzy," Crayola has revolutionized the coloring world. However, there always has to be a least-favorite among the brightly colored bunch... so what is it?

Surprisingly, there is little data available indicating what the least popular Crayola color is. Crayola did, however, do a "Color Census" back in 2001 in which people named their favorite Crayola crayons.

  • Based on this list, it stands to reason that the lowest ranked color on this list would be the least popular Crayola color.
  • That color, number 120 on Crayola's list, was 'Spring Green.'
  • However, since only 120 crayon colors were voted on out of the 133 available today, it is possible that this is no longer (or was never) the absolute least favorite color. The least favorite may have been a color that received no votes at all.

Still, with lack of better scientific data available, spring green may be the best answer to what the least popular Crayola color is.

The Crayola list on their Color Census was mainly focused on determining the most popular color and, surprisingly, with all of the creative colors that Crayola has, the most popular color was just plain blue. Perhaps this is a testament to the power of simplicity?

What is Your Answer?

So, based on the "official" Crayola color census, the least popular Crayola color would probably be spring green. The great thing about Crayola crayons is that they allow everyone to be creative... so you can choose your own least and most favorite Crayola colors.
