What Are Some Alternative Medicine Resources for Health Care Professionals?

What are some alternative medicine resources for health care professionals?  Patients and health care professionals alike are looking into alternative medicine now more than ever.  This is due to a raised consciousness about side effects of drugs and a trend towards a more natural lifestyle.  Fortunately, there are plenty of informative and educational resources out there that both health care professionals and laypeople can turn to in order to educate themselves and get detailed information.    

There are many different resources about alternative medicine available online for health care professionals. Some sites that provide good information are listed below:

  • Alternative Medicine Global has articles and videos for information on alternative medicine.  It has links for articles including: alternative medicine for pets, the elderly, osteoarthritis, high blood pressure, and acne. There are also articles on health plans, health insurance benefits, alternative medicine medical insurance companies, malpractice, and a list of alternative medical providers.
  • Internet Resources from the University of Pittsburgh has an index of links.  Some of them are: Alternative Systems of Medical Practice, Bioelectromagnetic Applications, Diseases and Conditions, Herbal Medicine, Hospitals and Health System Programs, Manual Healing, Mind/Body Control, and Practitioner’s Directories. 
  • Another resource is Alternative Medicine Foundation.  It has a resource guide for alternative and complementary medicine.  There are links to: books, journals, education and training in herbal medicine, and professional and referral organizations.  Additional guides are available for ayurveda, homeopathy, naturopathy, Tibetan medicine, and traditional Chinese medicine.
