When you're buying property, you'll often get measurements in terms of acres, half acres, and square feet. Therefore, knowing how these various terms relate to one another is significant.
There are exactly 21,780 feet in one half acre. Therefore, in a full acre, you'll find 43,560 square feet. People often hear the term "acre" and "half acre" used, but they really do not know what either of the terms mean. However, if you're one of those people, but are more knowledgeable about square footage, you now have a better idea in your head of what a half acre (and an acre!) entail.
In order to fully help you understand what an acre is, here are some other measurement equivalents for an acre.
All of these various conversions are courtesy of Calculate Me, which provides tools for conversion amongst all sorts of different measurements.
Even with all of the measurements we provided, envisioning an acre or a half of an acre is difficult. Looking at pictures online do not do the sizing justice, since it is still rather difficult to determine the size in proportion to other measurements. Therefore, consider the rather well known football analogy. Although football fields are not measured in acres for playing purposes, it is known that they are just a little bit bigger than a full acres. Therefore, visualize half of a football field and you will be imagining approximately one half acre.
