How to Remove an iPhone App

Do you know how to remove an iPhone app? There are literally thousands of applications that you can locate and download to your iPhone from your phone’s browser, and at no charge for most of them, it’s no surprise that at some point you’re going to decide to remove some of those apps. Some you just never use, while some you downloaded to preview and decided that either you didn’t like it or you found a better one. Whatever the case may be, when you’re running application cleanup on your iPhone, the process is pretty simple, assuming you’ve actually used your phone before.

As with most touch screen Apple “i” devices, the only trick to removing an iPhone app is pressing the right icon.

  • To delete an application, first you go to the applications menu, or the “home” screen, that shows all of your downloaded applications.
  • Once you’ve navigated to this screen, press and hold your finger down on one of the application icons until all of the icons that you see on the screen begin to shake.
  • When this happens, you’ll notice a small “x” on the upper left-hand corner of each application’s icon.
  • When you press this "x," a window opens giving you the option of deleting or canceling.
  • Press delete, and return to the home screen. Your application has been successfully deleted.

That is pretty much all there is to it, and now you know how to delete an iPhone App. Now you can get rid of the unwanted programs and make more room for the things you use on your phone.
