• The promise was made, and as Mumtaz breathed her last, the Taj Mahal was already being designed in Shah’s imagination.
• The materials were gathered from all over the expanse of India and into Asia, and the setting was to be right at the side of the River Yamuna, the site of a beautiful garden.
