How Do I Get Rid of the Trojan Horse Virus?

Computer viruses are not only a nuisance, but they can be extremely dangerous as well. Some computer viruses can steal important and personal information from your computer, as well as ruining how it operates. So, what is the Trojan horse virus, and how do I get rid of it?

One simple way to remove the Trojan horse virus is through virus protection that you can purchase at a store. The majority of up to date virus software has the ability to both uncover and remove a Trojan virus in your computer. However, remember to continually update your virus protection so that it can continually protect your computer from the virus.

If your virus scanner is not picking up the virus and you know that you have it, you can also get rid of the virus by reinstalling your operating system. Although this is a last resort, it does solve the problem. You can reinstall your operating system using the rescue disc that came with your computer when you first installed it. Since each rescue disc is different, you will have to read the manual to determine how to run it properly.

Avoiding Computer Viruses

There are some easy tips to avoid the problem in the first place. First, avoid opening up e-mail attachments from anyone that you do not know. Further, don’t click on links from individuals that you do not know, or from websites that you do not trust.

You can also avoid getting a Trojan horse virus by using an Internet firewall. Further, you should make sure the security settings on your Internet browser are strict and secure, and do not allow attachments to open without permission.

About the Trojan Horse Virus

The Trojan horse virus, also sometimes referred to simply as the Trojan, is a type of non-self replicating virus. The virus is named after the Trojan horse in Greek mythology because the virus appears innocent and trustworthy, and yet allows unauthorized access to your personal computer or to your laptop.

The virus appears to be performing an action that you requested it to perform. However, while performing this action, the virus allows a hacker access to your computer from a remote location. The hacker can then perform a variety of different functions depending upon the type of Trojan virus that it is, as well as the security of the computer.

For example, the hacker may be able to perform any of the following actions: stealing data from your computer (such as passwords, or your bank information), crashing your computer, installing other viruses, observing what the viewer is currently doing on his or her screen, and using up the computer’s storage space.
