How Do I Transfer Music from My PC to My PSP?

With the constant advancements made in technology one of the questions that is trending now is how to transfer music from your PC to a Sony Playstation Portable (PSP). First of all, be sure you have a usb cable with a mini B connector.

This much easier than you can imagine, taking just about ten minutes. Once you accomplish your mission, you will be able to listen to an array of music files including: MP3s, WAV, MP4 and WMA files.

  1. Turn on both your computer and PSP.
  2. Plug in the USB connector cable. The mini b side goes into your PSP and the bigger USB plugs into your PC.
  3. Go to your “settings” option on the PSP. If you are unfamiliar with how to do this, then go to the “home” button on your PSP it is on the lower left side of the screen.  From “home” you can get to “settings.”
  4. Press the round “X” button so that your PSP displays an option for “USB Connection.”
  5. When you see the words “USB Mode” PSP you will know that your computer is recognizing your USB shared connection to your PSP. Once a different (not one of your standard hard drives) hard drive appears on your computer, you can select the one that corresponds to your PSP.
  6. Right click on the hard drive that represents your PSP. Click “New Folder”. You will be creating a new folder on the drive that corresponds to your PSP.  You can call this folder “My PSP.”
  7. Stay in this new “My PSP” folder and create another new folder (a sub folder). You can call this one “My PSP Music.”
  8. Drag and drop music from your PC to your “My PSP Music” folder.  If dragging and dropping is not your forte, then you can always “select all” of your music from your PC, “copy” and then “paste” the music files into your “My PSP Music” folder.
  9. Once you have transferred the music that you want from your PC to your PSP you can either press the “O” button on your PSP to end USB mode or you can go to the “Safely Remove Hardware” option on your PC.
  10. Check to make sure that your music was uploaded by pressing the round “X” button on your PSP. You should be able to find all of your music.

If you find that your music did not upload as you may have planned, then simply repeat the process again.
